Natural hair:: February Wrap Up:: Two Strand Twists

Hey ya’ll. It’s hard to believe that February is on its way out and March is marching in. ..:-)

I two strand twisted my hair after it was blown out on February 1.

I wore the twists for 3 weeks in various styles. I <3 twists. I had several different looks and my hair was very moisturized. ( I wet my hair every 3 days and put the twists back in a protective style. )

Here are a few (OK,  a lot ) pictures of the twists from this month.

I’m off to wash my hair now and figure out what style I wanna rock today.

Natural Hair is the best!! :-) in my humble opinion :-)

Ultimate Natural Hair Icon:: Diana Ross on Oprah

Supreme icon, Diana Ross, appeared on Oprah 2/25/11.

She started the show with her famous song, I’m coming out, her voice was still amazing and she looked beautiful. I was drooling over her hair, of course I was, I <3 natural hair. (I know, it could be a weave or wig but whateva, I loved it) lol

I have to admit that I was one of the folks who believed the rumors about Diana being the B word. During the interview and after seeing her with her 5 gorgeous, well rounded children, one being my hands down favorite NATURAL beauty, Tracee Ellis Ross, my mind completely changed. I liked Diana Ross, the person, as much as I like her  hair.

Check out the the interview and get to know all of Diana’s children: .

Did you see it on Oprah? What’s your take on her or her hair? :-)

Kisses for your Soul Series:: Staying Motivated::Will Smith’s Wisdom

Lay it, one brick at a time…

This video of Will Smith is one of my favorite  on Youtube

for Motivation and Inspiration. I refer to it often and have the quotes below memorized. After watching the clip here, you will see why.

As I dwell on trying to grow my business, this snippet picks me right up.. { amongst other tools that I will discuss later on in the series. :) }

One summer his dad tore down a brick wall in front of his business, and told 12-year old Will and his 9-year old brother to re-build it. A  job they said was impossible… it took them a year and a half, but they did it.

“And he said, now don’t you ever tell me, there’s something that you can’t do.”

“You don’t try to build a wall. You don’t set out to build a wall. You don’t say I’m gonna build the biggest, baddest, greatest wall that’s ever been built. You don’t start there. You say, I’m gonna lay this brick as perfectly as a brick can be laid and you do that every single day and soon you have a wall.”

Let me know your thoughts or what is that motivating thing for you? Is it a quote, a scripture, meditation?

I’d really like to know so spill it by leaving me a comment.. Don’t be shy.. it’s all love here at ETJ. :)

Daily Kiss: Life Experiences

Life is a series of experiences, each one of which makes us bigger, even though it is hard to realize this. For the world was built to develop character, and we must learn that the setbacks and grieving which we endure help us in our marching onward.” — Henry Ford
